One thing that unites people across the world is the love for good food. In Estonia, great tastes and achievements in the food industry are recognised and celebrated annually through the Estonian Food Industry Association’s competition “Best Estonian Food Product.”
The competition aims to highlight new, innovative, and consumer-friendly products that enrich dining tables and promote Estonian food culture.
Since 1994, the Estonian Food Industry Association has supported healthy product development and worked to boost the quality and competitiveness of Estonian food locally and abroad.
Products are evaluated in multiple categories – from dairy and bakery products to ready meals and organic goods. All entries must meet high standards of quality, safety, and marketability.
This year, 65 Estonian food producers participated with a total of 155 products. In addition to four gold medals, silver awards were also given out, and the best products from small producers were recognised.
The Best Food Product of the Year 2025 was awarded to Marwi’s Vannamei Shrimps with Paprika and Garlic by JP Foods AS.
Awards were presented by the First Lady of Estonia, Sirje Karis, Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Henrik Johannes Terras, and the Head of the Estonian Food Industry Association, Sirje Potisepp.
A great product, of course, deserves great packaging. We are proud to see that every year, products packaged by Kroonpak are among those recognised. This year, no fewer than four different products in our packaging were showcased – helping ensure they reach consumers safely, in high quality, and with a standout appearance.
Estonia’s Best Bakery Product 2025 comes in Kroonpak packaging!
The Cranberry Oat Bread by Lõuna Pagarid was awarded the title of Best Estonian Bakery Product 2025.
This artisan-made bread features oats in four different forms – flakes, grains, bran, and flour! Combined with real butter and cranberries, it offers a new taste experience where the mildness of oat flour and the tart freshness of cranberries perfectly complement each other.
This bread also received a special recognition: the Retailers’ Choice Award.
The Cranberry Oat Bread was developed in collaboration with Leipurin Eesti.

More products: chicken skewers, chocolate, and mayonnaise
Nõo Lihatööstus also competed with their Basil-Tomato Marinated Chicken Shashlik.
The product is made from chicken thigh meat and enriched with Italian flavours.

Roosiku OÜ participated with their newly rebranded chocolates. Their entry: NAMM “Täiesti Kama” Chocolate – an organic milk chocolate made with Urvaste kama (a traditional Estonian grain mix).
The chocolatier’s take on the legendary kama chocolate bar evokes nostalgic feelings and bright memories from childhood.

Tang OÜ submitted Tanel’s Spicy Mayonnaise for the competition.
Tanel Tang is Estonia’s best-known poultry farmer (Saaremaa Mahemuna), and his mayonnaises are handcrafted from high-quality, organic ingredients.
